Regional Q&B Specialist, CACF RME – Amazon Canada – Calgary, AB

As a Regional Quality & Benchmarking (Q&B) Specialist within Amazon’s Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) organization, you’ll help build and implement quality systems that support maintenance excellence across the network. RME supports Amazon operations by maintaining and continuously improving robotics and material handling equipment (MHE) so fulfillment sites can run safely, reliably, and efficiently.

In this regional role, you’ll guide field teams, evaluate Fulfillment Center RME performance, and drive best practices to improve reliability metrics year over year, helping the organization move toward World Class Maintenance.

About the role: Regional Q&B Specialist (CACF RME)

This position focuses on defining and scaling standard work and quality management systems for RME. You’ll work closely with reliability partners and central teams to build tools, audits, and mechanisms that improve maintenance procedure quality and execution across sites.

A major component of the role is field engagement and evaluation, including frequent travel (up to 80%) to perform audits, analyze gaps versus best practices, and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Amazon maintenance standards.

Requirements / Skills

• 5+ years directly managing and being responsible for multiple large projects
• 5+ years of Reliability Program Manager experience
• 5+ years using Microsoft Office products and applications
• 5+ years of refrigeration industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (Reliability Maintenance Engineering) experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time Exempt experience
• Strong technical background in automated or non-automated MHE
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
• Experience with Lean Management, Six Sigma, and other operations engineering tools

Key Responsibilities

• Establish parts cage quality standard work (work benches, quality data, vendor defect rates) and build standard work around parts quality management
• Create a forward-looking risk-based interface to help site leaders prioritize work based on asset failure risk
• Partner with central reliability and RAPA teams to develop tools, processes, and automation for audits and parts mechanisms
• Establish RME standard work for determining maintenance procedure quality (details, timing, structure) across sites and providers
• Perform regular field audits and analyze work vs. standard-work best practices
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using AMS Standards
• Identify and validate company-wide PM processes/resources to meet safety and effectiveness standards
• Contribute as a senior quality engineer defining and auditing maintenance procedures and execution quality
• Help define the 3–5 year RME Quality strategic vision, roadmap, team dynamics, and scalable testing solutions/programs
