About the Role: Quality Assurance Engineer II
As a QA Engineer II on the Amazon Kids team, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing test strategies that ensure software products meet the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability. You’ll lead efforts to expand test automation coverage while reducing reliance on manual testing, and you’ll define quality metrics that give the team clear visibility into product health.
This role involves tackling genuine cross-platform engineering challenges across both client and server systems. You’ll be working with cutting-edge tools including GenAI technology, and your contributions will directly impact the experience of kids and parents using Amazon devices and services. Benefits and Salary
The base salary range for this position in Toronto, ON is $72,600 to $121,200 CAD annually, with final compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon’s total compensation package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Responsibilities
Day to day, you’ll be the person ensuring Amazon Kids products are reliable, performant, and safe for families everywhere. Your work spans everything from defining testing standards to hands-on implementation of automated test frameworks — all of which directly shapes the quality bar for millions of users.
- Design and implement comprehensive test strategies in collaboration with Product and Development teams to deliver high-quality consumer software
- Build and maintain test automation frameworks that reduce manual testing coverage and improve efficiency
- Define quality metrics and implement measurement systems to evaluate test effectiveness, testing efficiency, and overall software quality
- Ensure products consistently meet high standards of quality, performance, security, and reliability
- Contribute creative ideas to tackle cross-platform engineering challenges across the Amazon Kids quality engineering team
- Execute test planning, test design, performance testing, and stress testing for both client and server systems
- Develop and maintain API automation tests using unit test frameworks
Requirements / Skills

- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance engineering
- Automation and manual testing experience with a solid track record of implementation

- Hands-on experience with performance and stress testing across client and server systems
- API automation testing experience, including knowledge of unit test frameworks
- Familiarity with GenAI technology as applied to quality engineering workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Preferred: Experience gathering test requirements and defining quality metrics; strong leadership and communication skills; knowledge of industry-standard automation tools; Master’s degree
