About the Role: Principal Architect III, FSI
As a Solutions Architect within the Customer Development organization, you’ll bridge the gap between technical solutions and business value. You’ll work alongside value development partners to articulate the total value of each Google Cloud solution, guiding customers through their cloud transformation journeys — from hybrid deployments to full cloud migration. Your work directly influences how financial services leaders adopt and optimise enterprise-grade technology.
This role also requires strong cross-functional collaboration. You’ll engage with specialists, product management, and technical teams to manage the holistic enterprise architecture relationship with customers. The base salary range for this full-time position in Canada is CAD $244,000–$250,000, plus bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities
This role sits at the heart of Google Cloud’s customer engagement strategy, requiring you to lead complex, multi-stakeholder conversations and drive measurable business outcomes. Every responsibility ties back to helping financial services clients get the most from enterprise cloud technology.
- Build trusted advisory relationships with strategic accounts, engaging developers, VPs of Development, CTOs, and CIOs to identify priorities, technical objections, and design strategies across the full Google Cloud ecosystem
- Deliver domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and actively promote Google Cloud with customers, at conferences, and through online channels
- Provide integration and architecture recommendations including enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure, while sharing best practices to optimise Google Cloud effectiveness
- Manage holistic enterprise architecture relationships by collaborating with specialists, product management, and technical teams across the organisation
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, and related industry events as required to support client engagements
Requirements / Skills
Google is seeking a candidate who brings deep experience in enterprise architecture and a genuine understanding of the financial services industry. The ideal person is equally comfortable presenting to a CTO as they are diving into the technical specifics of a cloud migration roadmap.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise development or customer-facing technical roles
- Cloud market knowledge across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data
- Experience engaging and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders
- Financial services industry experience — either directly or in a supporting capacity
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud deployments, on-premise-to-cloud migrations, and enterprise architecture frameworks (preferred)
- Ability to deliver results cross-functionally and orchestrate solutions consisting of multiple products
- Strong influence and communication skills with the ability to identify and pursue expansion opportunities within accounts
