Costco’s pharmacy team in Vancouver, BC is looking for a Pharmacy Student to join their location at 605 Expo Blvd. This is a hands-on role that gives pharmacy students the chance to put their classroom knowledge to work in a real-world, member-focused setting under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

About the Role: Pharmacy Student
Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Student at Costco Vancouver will support drug distribution, including assisting with prescription order entry, packaging, and compounding. You’ll also contribute to expanded scope initiatives such as Health Promotion Clinics and medication review programs. Limited counselling and education on prescription and OTC products may be provided in accordance with your clinical knowledge and under pharmacist supervision.
This position requires a strong commitment to patient confidentiality, provincial regulatory compliance, and Costco pharmacy policies and procedures. You’ll work collaboratively with pharmacy staff to maintain a clean, organized, and safe dispensary environment while delivering prompt and courteous service to every member.

Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Student at Costco Vancouver, your daily duties will span prescription processing, patient interaction, and clinical support — all under the watchful guidance of a licensed pharmacist. These responsibilities are designed to support both excellent member care and your ongoing professional development.
- Answer and triage member phone calls and direct them to appropriate products or services
- Collect patient information and input prescriptions accurately into the pharmacy software system under pharmacist supervision
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving stock bottles, counting medications, and labelling under pharmacist supervision, following all safety and security procedures
- Alert the pharmacist when necessary, such as in cases of drug interactions or patient concerns
- Assist patients at the counter, retrieve prescriptions, and process register transactions while providing prompt and courteous service
- Communicate with patients regarding OTC products and refer to the pharmacist when appropriate
- Identify and recruit patients eligible for the medication review program and assist the pharmacist in delivering those services
- Support Health Promotion Clinics by assisting with recruitment and implementation plans alongside the pharmacist
- Stock drugs, supplies, and OTC merchandise and keep the pharmacy clean and well organized
- Comply with provincial regulations regarding the pharmacy student role and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a pharmacy program and is registered with their respective provincial College. Costco values team-oriented individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
- Enrolled in an approved pharmacy program — this is a mandatory requirement
- Registered with the respective College as a pharmacy student in British Columbia
- Community pharmacy experience is considered an asset
- Proficiency with Kroll pharmacy software is preferred
