About the Role: Pharmacy Assistant

Responsibilities

The day-to-day work of a Pharmacy Assistant at Walmart spans both technical pharmacy tasks and general operational support. Every responsibility plays a role in ensuring the pharmacy runs smoothly and that patients receive safe, accurate, and timely service under the Pharmacist’s supervision.

  • Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, checking for and pulling expired medications monthly, writing up returns, ordering drugs and supplies, and using preferred wholesalers
  • Uphold general housekeeping standards by keeping the dispensary clean, organized, and stocked with prescription-filling supplies such as vials, labels, and bags
  • Manage clerical organization including filing prescriptions, invoices, reports, and correspondence, as well as completing administrative tasks such as accounts receivable and aged trial balance
  • Assist with OTC operations including ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned by the OTC Manager or Pharmacist
