As a Package Handler with Federal Express Corporation Canada in Calgary, AB, you will be responsible for the physical loading, unloading, and sorting of packages by hand in a safe and efficient way. You may rotate across key warehouse areas such as Loader, Unloader, Palletizer, SWAK (Scan Weigh and Key), Quality Assurance (QA), Facer, and more, supporting smooth package flow through the operation.
This role is hands-on and fast-paced, with repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and placing of packages during shifts of about 3–5 hours. You’ll scan packages, read labels, verify numbers, and sort items to the correct conveyor systems while following safety methods like “hand-to-surface” handling.
About the role: Package Handler (Warehouse Like)
In this position, you’ll load and unload packages to and from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, conveyor carts, and load gratings. You’ll sort packages by scanning and reading labels, using charts, verifying numbers, and memorizing key routing information to ensure each item moves to the correct place.
Some assignments require additional training and responsibilities, including Package Handler Trainer (training other PHs on unloading/loading/palletizing/scanning techniques) and Package Handler – Air (following multi-step inspection processes to keep air restricted packages out of air containers and completing required documentation and training).

Requirements / Skills

- PH – Air: Six (6) months PH experience preferred; must complete and maintain required Airlift Consolidation Gateway, IAC training, and yearly recertification
