About the Role: Package Handler – Night Sort

Responsibilities
Each night shift, Package Handlers at UPS Richmond play a key role in keeping the flow of shipments on track. From the moment packages arrive to the moment they’re dispatched, your work ensures accuracy and efficiency across the entire sorting operation.
- Load and unload UPS packages into trailers and package cars
- Sort and scan packages accurately to ensure correct routing
- Ship and receive incoming and outgoing parcels within the facility
- Stock packages in designated areas following UPS procedures
- Operate heavy machinery as required to complete warehouse tasks
- Learn and apply proper UPS package handling methods consistently
- Perform additional tasks as assigned in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Requirements / Skills
UPS is looking for candidates who are physically capable, reliable, and comfortable working overnight hours in a high-volume warehouse setting. Attention to detail and the ability to stay focused during active, physical shifts are essential traits for success in this role.
- Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs. / 32 kg regularly throughout the shift
- Ability to read and memorize postal codes for accurate package sorting
- Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week, Monday to Friday
- Shift availability from approximately 9:15 PM to 12:15 AM (hours subject to operational needs)
- Warehouse experience is considered an asset
- Note: Public transit may not be available before or after shift hours — personal transportation is recommended
