About the Role: Package Handler

As a Package Handler at UPS Kanata, your primary responsibilities revolve around the loading and unloading of packages from delivery vehicles and trailers, as well as sorting and stocking parcels according to postal codes. You’ll learn and apply UPS’s established package handling methods to ensure accuracy and safety throughout every shift. No prior warehouse experience is required — UPS provides paid training to get you up to speed.

This is a physically demanding role that involves working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles, often in varying temperatures. Teamwork, reliability, and physical fitness are essential. You must be available all five days Monday through Friday, and flexibility around shift start and end times is required based on operational needs.

Benefits and Salary

This role starts at $18.50 per hour with automatic wage progression up to $31.49 per hour after 48 months of service, as per the Union Collective Agreement. UPS offers a strong benefits package including extended health care, vision, dental, and life insurance after one year of service, along with tuition reimbursement of up to $2,000 per semester. Note that monthly union dues of approximately $52/month apply, along with a one-time $50 union initiation fee after 90 working days.
