This is a part-time, AM shift role running Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday, 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. — ideal for those who like their afternoons free. You’ll be hands-on from the moment you clock in, loading, unloading, and sorting packages as part of a fast-moving warehouse operation. Depending on your experience and training, you may also rotate through specialized assignments like Quality Assurance, Air Package Handling, or Package Handler Trainer.
About the Role: Package Handler at FedEx
As a Package Handler (PH), your primary responsibility is the physical movement of packages — lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and placing them in a safe and efficient manner. You’ll work across various positions on the dock, including Loader, Unloader, Palletizer, SWAK (Scan Weigh and Key), and Facer, depending on where you’re needed most during each sort. The shifts typically run 3 to 5 hours, and you may work more than one shift per day based on operational needs.
FedEx places a strong emphasis on workplace safety and team collaboration. All Package Handlers are expected to follow established dock safety standards, use proper hand-to-surface handling techniques, and communicate clearly with their team. The environment is fast-paced and physically demanding — you’ll be working in areas with loud noise and varying temperatures — so physical readiness and attention to procedure are essential.
Benefits and Salary
FedEx is committed to taking care of each other, which is reflected in their inclusive and supportive work environment. While the specific pay rate for this position is not listed in the posting, FedEx is known for offering competitive wages and a respectful workplace culture. As an employee, you’ll be part of a company that values diversity and actively supports candidates from all backgrounds, including women, persons with disabilities, Indigenous persons, and people from 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
