About the Role: Package Handler
As a Package Handler, your core responsibility is the physical movement of packages — lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout a 3–5 hour shift. You’ll use conveyor systems, hand-held scanners, dock carts, and other warehouse tools to ensure packages are sorted and routed correctly. You may also be assigned to specialized roles like Package Handler – Air (responsible for air cargo inspections) or Package Handler Trainer (mentoring new team members on safe handling techniques).

Benefits and Salary
This is a part-time position paying $20.47 per hour. Two shift options are available: Monday to Friday, 3:50 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. or Saturday to Wednesday, 6:40 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.. A valid Full G licence is required. Responsibilities
Day-to-day, a Package Handler at FedEx is on their feet and on the move. Your work directly impacts the flow of packages through the facility, so reliability, physical stamina, and following safe handling procedures are key to performing well in this role.
- Load and unload packages onto and from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, and conveyor systems
- Lift, carry, push, and pull packages continuously throughout a 3–5 hour shift, handling items between 5 and 50 lbs
- Scan and sort packages using hand-held scanners, reading labels and verifying numbers to ensure correct routing
- Operate warehouse equipment including skate wheel rollers, dock carts, chutes, and unloading devices
- Follow safety standards and use “hand-to-surface” methods for all package handling
- Train new Package Handlers (if assigned as PH Trainer) on loading, unloading, palletizing, and scanning techniques
- Inspect packages for hazardous materials or air restrictions (if assigned as PH – Air) and complete required documentation in SCMS
- Communicate updates to management on sort conditions to support operational efficiency
Requirements / Skills
FedEx is open to candidates with no prior warehouse experience — what matters most is your ability to follow instructions, work safely, and contribute to a team in a fast-paced environment. A Full G licence is required for this role.
