About the Role: Overnight Associate

As an Overnight Associate, your primary focus is ensuring the smooth flow of merchandise from receiving through to the sales floor. You’ll be unloading trailers, pulling pallets, labelling merchandise, and placing items in backroom bins — all with a strong emphasis on getting the store floor-ready before doors open each morning. This role is distinct from day and evening fulfillment positions due to its heavier focus on backroom stocking and labelling.

Working as part of a strategic overnight team, you’ll also be expected to uphold Walmart’s commitment to a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment. This includes following company policies and procedures, completing safety sweep logs, and making sure all displays and fixtures are secure before the store opens.

Benefits and Salary

Walmart Canada offers a starting wage of $17.75 per hour for this position, with the rate of pay determined based on relevant experience. Responsibilities

Overnight Associates at Walmart play a critical behind-the-scenes role that keeps the store running smoothly. Every night, this team works efficiently and collaboratively to ensure shelves are stocked, merchandise is processed, and the store is fully ready for customers at opening time. Here’s what a typical overnight shift looks like:

• Prepare the sales floor for store opening each morning, ensuring everything is in order for customers
• Set, merchandise, and sign features throughout the store as directed
• Unload trailers and process incoming merchandise in a safe and efficient manner
• Label merchandise and place products in the appropriate backroom bins — a key differentiator for this overnight role
• Pull pallets of merchandise to and from the sales floor for overnight processing
• Stock the sales floor as assigned and provide customer service when required
• Label the sales floor to ensure it’s fully prepared before store opening
• Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to company policies, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure
