About the Role: Optical Student

As an Optical Student at Costco’s Scarborough location, your primary focus will be delivering outstanding member service in the optical department. Responsibilities

The Optical Student role at Costco Scarborough involves a well-rounded mix of member service, optical fitting support, and general department operations. Each of these responsibilities contributes to a seamless and pleasant experience for every member who visits the optical department.

  • Fit and adjust eyeglasses using a frame warmer and finger bending techniques, where permitted by provincial law and under the supervision of a licensed Optician
  • Order supplies and merchandise by keying requisitions into the computer system, ensuring the department stays well stocked
  • Stock merchandise and follow department procedures for production, record keeping, merchandising, and product storage
  • Maintain a clean department through regular spraying, wiping, mopping, emptying trash, and operating the trash compactor and cardboard bailer
  • Support other warehouse areas as needed, demonstrating flexibility and team spirit
