About the Role: Operator
As an Operator at Hillebrand Gori, your primary focus will be supporting and administering Ocean Freight (OFR) Operations and Customer Service plans and processes. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of goods and information across customers’ global supply chains — from booking and documentation through to tracking and reporting. This role demands someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of juggling multiple priorities with confidence.
You’ll work closely with internal departments including operations, sales, and procurement, as well as directly with customers to maintain and enhance business relationships. You’ll also play a role in optimizing productivity and resource management, identifying recurring issues and recommending process improvements to increase efficiency across OFR operations.

Responsibilities
The Operator role at Hillebrand Gori covers a wide range of logistics and customer service functions. Day-to-day, you’ll be managing ocean freight documentation, coordinating with carriers and clients, and ensuring that shipments move efficiently through the supply chain. - Support administration of Ocean Freight (OFR) Ops and Customer Service plans and processes for internal and external customers
- Gather and provide requirements to the freight control centre and assist the operations team with operational performance details and instructions
- Manage allocation and reservations of freight on planned line haul routes
- Ascertain domestic and international freight rates based on analysis of tariff rates, freight classifications, delivery schedules, and deadlines
- Respond to customer queries and participate in client visits to maintain strong business relationships and support customer retention
- Prepare and submit relevant documents for shipping tenders and handle day-to-day shipment documentation
- Track account performance and provide monthly reports to team members
- Create and confirm transport orders, perform and optimize bookings within the OFR product area
- Prepare, control, and distribute all required Import/Export documents and update customs shipment information
- Identify performance issues among suppliers and propose solutions to improve performance and resolve customer incidents

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification in a relevant field
- 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations

- Strong communication skills — written and verbal — for client interactions and internal collaboration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
