About the Role: Operations Supervisor (Exports)

As the Operations Supervisor for Exports, you’ll take ownership of the daily movement of packages and freight, ensuring everything departs on schedule and meets DHL’s strict standards of cost, efficiency, and accuracy. You’ll liaise with key internal and external stakeholders including freight forwarders, customs teams, and internal departments, and serve as the operational link that keeps everything connected. You’ll also implement new procedures to improve effectiveness and deliver performance reports to management.

You’ll coach and develop your team, provide meaningful recognition, and foster open communication that keeps staff engaged and motivated. Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be managing the full scope of daily export operations — from coordinating freight movement and aircraft departures to overseeing staff performance and safety programs. These responsibilities require both operational precision and strong leadership presence on the floor.

• Ensure timely aircraft departures daily by managing freight security and proper loading procedures
• Liaise between key internal and external stakeholders including freight forwarders, customs teams, and internal departments
• Coordinate all export material daily in collaboration with the debrief and supervisor team
• Establish and implement productivity, quality, and cost measurement strategies to achieve operational targets
• Coach and develop your team through regular feedback, recognition, and monitoring of progress against goals
• Complete accurate, timely reports for management including staff schedules, attendance records, payroll documentation, Dangerous Goods incidents, and load quality
• Maintain safety compliance by running a proactive safety program aligned with legislative requirements and the collective agreement
• Oversee warehouse organization, equipment maintenance, and ensure adequate staffing, materials, and supplies at all times
• Address customer complaints and escalated issues professionally and in a timely manner, following through on Customer Service solutions
• Ensure implementation of scanning technology and keep all staff permits and air operation audits current

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings a solid background in warehouse or logistics supervision, combined with strong communication skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a dynamic environment. • 3 years of supervisory or management experience, ideally in a warehouse or logistics setting
• Knowledge and compliance with Dangerous Goods regulations is required
• Experience with Canada Customs processes is considered an asset
• Familiarity with aviation regulations in an operations context is an asset
• Prior experience with lean or process improvement initiatives is valued
• Working knowledge of Collective Agreements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team
• College or University designation is required
• Demonstrated time management, organizational skills, and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
