Requirements / Skills

To be considered for the Operations Supervisor-1 role, you need the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • College degree.
  • 2 years of FedEx sort operations or senior-level hourly role experience OR 2 years of supervisory experience in a related industry.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the previous 24 months).
  • EXCEL Leadership Development Stream participation is preferred.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment.
  • Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrency training, including obtaining and maintaining DG (dangerous goods) certification.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource for other employees.
  • Ability to inspire a shared vision, empower and motivate a team, and prioritize and delegate in a time-sensitive operation.
  • Strong conflict management skills and the ability to address and resolve issues effectively.
  • Clear, concise and timely communication skills, with the ability to listen and respond with empathy.
