About the Role: Millwright
As a Millwright at the Coteau-du-Lac distribution centre, your primary focus will be on maintaining and repairing the facility’s automated conveyor systems, carton-sorting equipment, and base building components. You’ll complete and document work through the Maintenance CMMS and PM program, ensuring all machinery meets current safety standards while minimizing downtime.
This position also requires a strong commitment to product safety, quality, and legality. You’ll work closely with fellow maintenance teammates across all shifts, communicate clearly with internal customers, and contribute to the development of the department’s daily work schedule. Functional French (written and spoken) is required for candidates residing in Quebec.

Responsibilities
The day-to-day work of a Millwright at this facility centres on keeping automated conveyor and materials handling systems in top condition. Your contributions directly impact the speed, safety, and reliability of the distribution centre’s operations.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyor systems and base building infrastructure
- Troubleshoot equipment components using schematics, panel layouts, and manufacturer specification manuals to diagnose and effect repairs
- Complete and maintain all documentation related to the Maintenance CMMS and PM program
- Set up and maintain machinery to comply with current safety standards
- Repair pallet rack, pick modules, dock components, and materials handling equipment as required
- Assist in receiving incoming shipments of inventory and replacement parts, and respond to trouble calls as needed
- Communicate effectively with peers and other department employees across all shifts
- Assist in planning, setting priorities, and developing the daily work schedule as directed
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate is a certified tradesperson with hands-on experience in industrial mechanical maintenance and a strong ability to diagnose complex equipment issues. FedEx values team players who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a high-paced distribution environment.
- Journeyman Tradesperson, Interprovincial Red Seal, or Registered Apprentice Tradesperson designation (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of experience performing mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing or packaging environment
- Knowledge of conveyor systems, carton-sorting systems, and mobile equipment used in distribution centres
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose repair needs using schematics and technical documentation
- Detail-oriented with strong adherence to processes, procedures, and safety standards
- Physical capability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs and perform tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse
- Functional French (written and spoken) required for candidates residing in Quebec
