About the Role: Ramp Operations Manager

Responsibilities
In this leadership role, the Ramp Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth coordination of ramp-level activities, from overseeing employee performance to maintaining operational standards. Every day brings a mix of people leadership, administrative oversight, and hands-on operational involvement — making it a dynamic and rewarding position for the right candidate.
- Coordinate daily operations within the service area, including standard performance checks to ensure efficiency and compliance
- Direct the work activities of ramp employees, providing clear guidance and day-to-day supervision
- Train, coach, and mentor both new and current employees to develop their skills and support team performance
- Support management by performing administrative functions as required or directed
- Ensure all team members complete required training and maintain annual accreditations where applicable
- Manage schedules and adapt to varying shifts, including holidays, based on business needs
- Operate within a PC/Windows environment and complete all mandatory testing and recurrent training
Requirements / Skills
FedEx is looking for an experienced professional with a strong operational background and proven leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate brings a thorough understanding of FedEx products and services, is comfortable working under pressure, and has the interpersonal skills to lead a diverse team effectively on a busy ramp environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combined with at least four years of FedEx or industry experience
- EXCEL Endorsed status (previously known as LEAP), with completion of the Excel Leadership Development Stream within the 2-year OMA assignment
- One year of aircraft operations experience — CTV experience is a definite asset
- Valid driver’s licence with a good driving record; must be willing to obtain a Class 1 licence within the first 1–2 years in the role
- Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a self-managed environment
