This is a Day Shift position running Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering steady hours and competitive pay. You’ll be hands-on throughout your shift — manually handling materials up to 50 lbs for approximately 80% of your day, with the remaining 20% spent operating powered equipment including an Electric Pallet Jack and Counterbalance Truck.

Responsibilities
The Material Handler role at DHL is a dynamic, physically active position where every day involves keeping product moving safely and accurately. From operating powered equipment to verifying shipment details, your work directly supports the integrity of DHL’s supply chain operations in Toronto.
- Operate powered equipment including Electric Pallet Jacks and Counterbalance Trucks to move, locate, stack, and count product
- Manually handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs for the majority of the shift, including loading product onto pallets and totes
- Pick and put away product for shipment or stock, ensuring accurate quantities and product types are fulfilled per customer orders
- Verify outbound shipments by comparing quantity, quality, labelling, and delivery address against customer order details
- Inspect incoming and outgoing product for damage, infestation, and correct code dates to ensure they meet customer requirements
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and manage battery or LP tank changes as needed
- Report discrepancies such as non-available products and OS&D (Over, Short & Damaged)
- Maintain a clean and organized facility, assisting with physical inventories as required
Requirements / Skills
DHL is looking for a candidate who is dependable, safety-conscious, and experienced with warehouse and forklift operations. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment and be committed to accuracy and quality in every task. A team-first attitude and willingness to take on physical work are essential.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required as a minimum level of education
- Forklift certification or satisfactory completion of a forklift training program required within the first 30 days of employment
- Minimum 6 months experience operating a Counterbalance (CB) forklift or End Rider (required for this role)
- Six months of warehouse experience is preferred to hit the ground running in this role
- Physical capability to safely handle materials up to 50 lbs throughout the majority of the shift
- Attention to detail when verifying shipments, recording product codes, and flagging discrepancies
