About the Role: Marketing Road Representative (Business Centre)
At the core of this position is the goal of growing Costco Business Centre‘s membership base and boosting warehouse sales — both walk-in and delivery. You’ll be out canvassing businesses in person and following up by phone and email, developing genuine working relationships with business owners and decision-makers. Using the Cybergeneration CRM system, you’ll track all your member communications, sales activities, appointments, and campaign results, keeping everything organized and measurable.
Beyond solo fieldwork, you’ll collaborate with the Membership Area Manager to execute the broader marketing and sales plan. You’ll represent Costco at community events, trade shows, and Chamber of Commerce meetings, all while providing the prompt and courteous member service that Costco is known for across Canada.

Responsibilities
This role keeps you on the move and engaged every single day. As a Marketing Road Representative, you’ll be the direct link between Costco Business Centre and the local business community, balancing fieldwork, relationship-building, and sales strategy. Here’s what your day-to-day looks like:
- Canvass businesses in the warehouse sales area in person and by phone to promote Costco membership and drive sales growth
- Meet with business owners to assess their needs and identify Costco products and services that offer genuine value, using persuasive skills to promote walk-in and delivery sales
- Assist the Membership Area Manager with formulating and executing the overall marketing and sales plan
- Support members with online ordering, suggesting new items, related products, and other Costco goods to grow their basket size
- Use Cybergeneration CRM (or other required tools) to track all member communications, sales activities, sign-ups, appointments, calls, emails, and campaign performance
- Comp shop competitors regularly to assess Costco’s position in the local market area
- Represent Costco at community events, trade shows, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and local charity events as directed by the Membership Area Manager
- Provide excellent member service, resolving concerns with problem-solving skills, tact, and discretion
- Submit accurate mileage records and expense receipts for reimbursement in a timely manner
- Assist at the Membership Counter and support inside marketing programs as needed
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter who’s comfortable working independently in the field while staying connected to a collaborative team. Costco values candidates who bring a proactive attitude, genuine people skills, and a knack for building lasting business relationships.
- High School diploma or GED is preferred as the minimum educational background
- Valid Driver’s Licence is required, along with a reliable personal vehicle with appropriate business insurance coverage
- Marketing or sales experience is strongly preferred — candidates with this background will be given preference in the selection process
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are a strong asset for this client-facing role
- Proficiency in Google/Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as AS400, CRM tools, and IBM Sterling is an asset
- Organizational skills and strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities, are highly valued
