Maintenance Assistant – Costco – Sherbrooke, QC

Join Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd. as a Maintenance Assistant in Sherbrooke, QC. In this role, you’ll provide janitorial services, general upkeep, and facility support across the Optical Lab to protect employees, equipment, and operations. You’ll clean floors, operate cardboard and trash compactors, follow safety and security procedures, and assist with grounds maintenance.

About the Role: Maintenance Assistant

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll follow the daily schedule to complete routine tasks across offices, restrooms, break rooms, production floors, and other areas. You’ll clean floors and fixtures, wash windows and ceilings, change light bulbs, and quickly respond to spills to minimize hazards. You’ll also operate compactors and support snow/ice removal, painting, and concrete floor repairs throughout the lab.

Beyond cleaning, you’ll monitor and restock supplies, handle store inventory, place internal and external purchases, and use the internal maintenance system. You’ll provide prompt, courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers, and assist other lab areas when required—always following Optical Lab safety and security standards.

Requirements / Skills

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience: Janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills: Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity required; ability to operate trash/cardboard compactors and follow safety/security procedures.
• Quebec Note: Ability to communicate in French (oral and written) is required for postings in Quebec.
