Maintenance Assistant – Costco – Quebec City, QC

Costco Wholesale Canada is hiring a dedicated Maintenance Assistant at its Quebec City warehouse (999 Rue du Marais). In this role, you’ll ensure all areas of the facility—warehouse, offices, break rooms, and restrooms—are clean, safe, and welcoming for members and employees.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll perform janitorial services and general upkeep: operating floor scrubbers, sweeping and mopping, restocking supplies, and handling waste management (trash and cardboard).

You’ll also help maintain facility safety by responding to spills, removing trip hazards, performing perimeter checks, and reporting issues to management. This is an entry-level role (no prior experience required). Because the role is in Quebec, the ability to communicate in French (oral and written) is required.

Requirements / Skills

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• French (oral and written) required (Quebec postings)
• No prior experience required; strong work ethic and reliability
• Attention to detail; ability to follow procedures and work independently
• Comfort using cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers) after training

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, offices, restrooms, and break rooms (scrub, sweep, mop, wipe)
• Collect cardboard and trash; operate the garbage compactor and cardboard baler
• Restock janitorial supplies; report facility issues to management
• Perform perimeter checks and basic grounds upkeep
• Respond promptly to spills and remove debris/trip hazards
• Follow all safety and security procedures; provide courteous member service
• Assist other warehouse areas as needed
