About the Role: Loss Prevention Clerk

As a Loss Prevention Clerk, your primary mission is to protect Costco’s assets from both internal and external theft. You’ll spend much of your shift walking the warehouse and surrounding perimeter, keeping a trained eye on activity throughout the building. When situations escalate, you’ll be responsible for detaining and interviewing shoplifters, preparing reports for internal use and potential prosecution, and maintaining thorough investigation files. You report directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Beyond theft prevention, this role requires a working knowledge of applicable provincial and federal laws, including the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Trespass Act, and relevant Privacy Acts. You’ll attend meetings and seminars to stay current on loss prevention practices, and you’ll play an active role in educating other warehouse team members on security procedures and Costco policies.
