About the Role: Loader/Unloader PM (Local Sorter)
As a Local Sorter at the Delta facility, you’ll be on the floor handling packages of all sizes — lifting, lowering, and moving items weighing between 10 and 70 lbs, with some packages up to 150 lbs. You’ll work closely with conveyor belts, roller systems, and other warehouse equipment while scanning and sorting packages based on postal codes, addresses, and dimensions.
Accuracy and attention to detail are key in this position. You’ll be expected to understand routing charts, postal codes, and maps to ensure packages are directed correctly. The team environment at UPS values safety compliance, consistent performance, and mutual support across shifts.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day work as a Local Sorter at UPS Delta involves physically demanding but structured tasks on the warehouse floor. Each shift contributes directly to UPS’s regional delivery operations, so accuracy and consistency are essential to keeping packages moving on time.
- Load and unload packages from trailers, air canisters, and other vehicles
- Lift, lower, and move packages weighing between 10 and 70 lbs regularly, and up to 150 lbs when required
- Scan and sort packages based on postal codes, addresses, and package dimensions
- Interpret and apply postal codes, routing charts, and maps for accurate package direction
- Operate safely near conveyor belts, roller systems, and other warehouse equipment
- Wash package cars to maintain cleanliness standards at the facility
- Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures throughout each shift
Requirements / Skills
UPS is looking for candidates who are physically capable, reliable, and comfortable in a warehouse setting. You don’t need prior experience to apply — UPS provides training — but you should be ready for a fast-paced and physically demanding environment and committed to showing up Monday to Friday.
