About the Role: Lead Solution Strategist, VMO

As the Lead Solution Strategist within Google Cloud’s Vendor Management Organization, you’ll be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive vendorization strategy for the global business development operations. This means identifying innovative vendor solutions, optimizing vendor spend and performance, and aligning the vendor model with organizational goals across multiple customer segments.

Benefits and Salary

For Canadian applicants, the base salary range for this full-time position is CAD $232,000–$238,000, plus bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a 401(k)/retirement plan with company match, generous paid vacation (20 days/year), sick time, maternity leave of up to 28–30 weeks, baby bonding leave of 18 weeks, and 13 paid holidays per year. Individual pay within the stated range is determined by work location, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and leadership. Your daily work will involve shaping vendor partnerships, leading transformation initiatives, and ensuring the global business development organization gets maximum value from its vendor ecosystem. Requirements / Skills

Google is seeking a seasoned, senior-level leader who brings deep technical project management experience alongside a strong background in vendor strategy and people leadership. The ideal candidate thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and knows how to translate big-picture vision into actionable outcomes.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required
  • 15 years of experience in technical project management or a customer-facing role
  • 5 years of people management experience leading teams at scale
  • Experience in vendorization strategies, specifically within sales and marketing contexts (preferred)
  • Track record in strategic vendor management — developing and implementing solutions that drive measurable outcomes (preferred)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences
  • Ability to lead innovation and drive transformation within complex vendor ecosystems (preferred)
