About the Role: HR Business Partner
Reporting directly to the Head of Human Resources, the HR Business Partner will provide strategic HR leadership and hands-on support to a designated client group within the Canadian organisation. You’ll act as a true business partner — someone who understands operational realities, anticipates people challenges, and delivers proactive HR solutions that drive results.
This role touches every aspect of the employee life cycle, from attracting top talent and onboarding new hires to supporting performance management, navigating employee relations issues, and facilitating leadership development. You’ll also lead talent reviews, succession planning, and learning initiatives — all while building meaningful relationships across all levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities
As an HR Business Partner at DHL Global Forwarding, your day-to-day work spans both strategic initiatives and hands-on HR operations. From leading talent management across the Canadian organisation to coaching senior leaders through change, every responsibility in this role has a direct impact on the business and the people within it.
- Build relationships at all levels of the organisation to support local business needs, deploy HR strategies, and act as an effective change management agent
- Lead talent management for the Canadian organisation by developing and implementing a strategic talent attraction and retention plan aligned with business objectives
- Drive performance management initiatives, including active participation in talent reviews and succession planning
- Support learning and development by coordinating and delivering virtual training sessions that enhance employee skills and align with organisational needs
- Provide employee relations support, including conducting workplace investigations and documenting findings in a thorough and timely manner
- Oversee the full employee life cycle — from recruitment and onboarding through performance management and offboarding
- Train and support managers on HR policies, procedures, employment legislation, benefits, and government regulations
- Coach leaders and support their ongoing professional skill development and growth
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate for this HR Business Partner position is a strategic thinker with a genuine passion for people and a solid understanding of business operations. Bilingualism (French and English) would be a strong asset given the Montréal location.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field; CHRP/CRIA designation or equivalent experience is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of HR Business Partner experience, with a demonstrated ability to operate as a true strategic partner to business leaders
- Strong functional HR expertise across talent acquisition, performance management, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, coaching, and employee relations
- Business acumen and commercial awareness — the ability to develop and implement people solutions that directly address business challenges
- Change management experience, including coaching leaders through organisational change and transformation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- HRIS and data analytics experience is considered an asset
