Grocery Associate – Walmart – Surrey, BC

Walmart Canada’s Surrey location is looking for a Grocery Associate to join their in-store team. This is a temporary (fixed term) position based at 10355 152 St, Surrey, BC, and it’s a solid entry point for anyone looking to build hands-on experience in the Canadian retail industry.

In this role, you’ll be on the floor keeping shelves stocked, products properly priced, and the grocery department running smoothly. Beyond the behind-the-scenes work, you’ll also be the friendly face helping customers find what they need — making every visit a positive one.

About the Role: Grocery Associate

As a Grocery Associate at Walmart Canada, your day-to-day will revolve around maintaining the grocery section so that it’s always ready for customers. You’ll zone the department, rotate stock to ensure freshness, verify that merchandise is correctly signed and priced, and make sure shelves are fully stocked at all times. You’ll also set and complete modulars, including flex modulars and new shelf caps.

Following food safety and handling procedures, maintaining proper sanitation, and adhering to Walmart’s Health and Safety guidelines are core parts of this position. Whether it’s managing clearance items, applying correct markups and markdowns, or working with your team to keep things running efficiently, you’ll play an important part in the store’s daily operations.

Benefits and Salary

This position starts at a minimum rate of $18.00 per hour. Responsibilities

• Zone the department to ensure the grocery area is organized and visually appealing at all times
• Rotate stock and check for expired products to maintain freshness and quality standards

• Follow food safety and handling procedures, including sanitation and cleaning protocols
• Process ordering, clearance, and markups/markdowns following established store procedures
• Stock shelves and downstock as applicable, applying product protection where required
• Set and complete modulars, including flex modulars and new shelf caps
• Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe work environment
