About the Role: Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant
As an Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant, your primary focus is helping Costco members make informed purchasing decisions across the major appliances, electronics, and jewelry departments. You’ll answer questions, demonstrate products, explain features, and assist members in loading items to their carts — all while maintaining a well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing department.
Staying current is a big part of this role. You’ll be expected to read industry publications and product reviews, experiment with merchandise, and pass Costco’s PC/Electronics knowledge test. You’ll also work closely with the Area Manager on matters related to merchandise quantity, pricing, delivery, and promotions, ensuring the department runs efficiently at all times.

Responsibilities
This role centres on delivering exceptional member service in one of Costco’s most product-knowledge-intensive departments. Each day involves a mix of direct member interaction, department upkeep, and staying informed about the latest in electronics and appliance trends.
- Assist members on the sales floor by answering questions, demonstrating products, and explaining features in the electronics, major appliances, and jewelry areas
- Help members load products onto their carts and ensure a smooth, positive shopping experience
- Stay current on industry trends by reading product magazines, reviews, and literature, and by experimenting with merchandise to understand functions and specifications
- Communicate with the Area Manager regarding merchandise quantity, pricing, delivery schedules, and promotions
- Maintain merchandise displays by following merchandising standards, aligning and facing products, stocking shelves, and collecting stray items
- Process member returns by checking and approving returned products
- Create and verify signage for accuracy of product markings and pricing
- Participate in merchandise moves and coordinate with forklift drivers for aisle stocking
- Maintain department cleanliness, including organizing the security lock-up and keeping the sales floor clear of debris
- Assist in other warehouse areas as needed
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in consumer electronics and home appliances, along with the communication skills needed to guide members through purchase decisions. - High School Diploma or GED is preferred
- Sales experience will be given preference over other candidates

- Bilingual (French and English) is required for positions in Quebec locations
