About the Role: Consumables Associate

As a Consumables Associate, you’ll be an essential part of the flow between the backroom and the salesfloor. From receiving and stocking merchandise to setting up product displays and rotating stock, your work directly impacts how the store looks and how customers feel about their shopping trip. You’ll also be handling claims, returns, and identifying high-shrink items in line with company policy.

Beyond the physical work, this role calls for genuine customer engagement. Whether it’s helping someone locate a product, resolving a concern, or directing them to the right department, you’ll be expected to approach every interaction with a positive, helpful attitude. Safety and cleanliness are also a priority — you’ll be expected to maintain a safe work environment at all times.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay starts at $18.00 per hour. Responsibilities

Working as a Consumables Associate at Walmart means you’re a key part of keeping the store running smoothly. From greeting customers to stocking shelves and setting up displays, your daily contributions directly shape the in-store experience for shoppers across Victoria.

• Greet all customers in a polite and friendly manner, setting a welcoming tone from the moment they walk in
• Assist customers by promoting products and services, locating merchandise, and supporting purchase decisions
• Resolve customer issues promptly and refer more complex concerns to management as appropriate
• Maintain salesfloor presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out-of-date goods, and setting up product displays
• Ensure proper handling of claims and returns, secure merchandise, and identify high-shrink items in accordance with company policy
• Receive and stock merchandise, operate equipment appropriately, and complete required paperwork and documentation
• Stock and downstock merchandise as applicable, apply product protection when required, and set and complete modulars including flex modulars and new shelf caps
• Refer appropriate service and transactional items to a Customer Service Manager as required
