As a Cashier Assistant with Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd. in Quebec City, QC, you will pack member orders into boxes, transfer items to a separate cart for Cashiers, and help keep the front end running smoothly. You will support member checkout by providing a high level of member service, assisting with cart retrieval, clean-up, merchandise restocking, and running for items as directed.
In this role, you will greet members, help load orders onto the conveyor belt, confirm packing preferences, answer questions, and share information about special promotions. You will help maintain a clean and safe front-end area by cleaning spills and trip hazards immediately and following safety and security procedures.
About the role: Cashier Assistant
The Cashier Assistant supports Cashiers by packing orders, moving items to carts or flatbeds, and helping lines move efficiently. You will run for items such as merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and item numbers as requested to support daily operations.
You will also assist with front-end duties including maintaining cleanliness, retrieving carts and flatbeds from the parking area, keeping the lot area clear of debris, and supporting set-up and closing tasks such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning the area. This role may include operating a mechanical trash compactor/cardboard bailer and supporting the cashier during promotions.
