About the Role: Bakery Wrapper

As a Bakery Wrapper at Costco Kitchener, you’ll be responsible for the finishing and presentation of baked goods as they come out of production. That means applying icings and glazes, assembling packaging, and ensuring every product meets Costco’s strict quality and consistency standards. You’ll also handle stock rotation, monitor pull dates, and keep the wrapping and sales areas clean and compliant with health codes.

Collaboration is key in this department. You’ll be part of a team that relies on each other to meet production targets and maintain a safe, tidy workspace. Following safety and security procedures is a core part of this position, as is providing courteous service to members on the warehouse floor when needed.

Responsibilities

Working in Costco’s bakery department means balancing speed with precision. You’ll be hands-on throughout the day — from garnishing baked goods to restocking shelves — all while keeping product quality and member experience front of mind.

• Garnish and finish baked goods by drizzling icing or spraying glaze according to Costco’s production formulas
• Wrap and package baked goods by hand or using a wrapping machine, and assemble pre-cut cardboard boxes for packaging
• Weigh and label products accurately, and remove any broken, underweight, heavy, or defective items from circulation
• Transport product throughout the bakery using large wheeled metal racks
• Monitor and restock the bakery sales area as needed, rotating stock and checking pull dates to comply with health code requirements
• Assist members with product knowledge and direct them to items and services within the warehouse
• Maintain cleanliness in the wrapping and sales areas, following all safety and security procedures
• Support the broader team by assisting with other bakery duties and warehouse tasks as needed

Requirements / Skills

Costco isn’t looking for years of experience for this role — they’re looking for someone dependable, willing to learn, and committed to doing the job right. A background in food service or a retail environment is helpful, but the most important qualities are reliability and a positive attitude.

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory
• Food Safety Certification – Level 1 is required and must be obtained before or on your first day in the position
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical tasks like pushing heavy racks and packaging products throughout a shift
• Attention to detail when checking product quality, weight, labelling, and pull dates
• Member-focused attitude with the ability to assist customers in a courteous and knowledgeable way
• French language skills (oral and written) are required for candidates applying to Quebec locations
