About the Role: Automotive Painter
As an Automotive Painter on the afternoon shift, you’ll be responsible for high-quality spray application of primers, sealers, basecoats, and clearcoats across multiple repair orders daily. You’ll be working in state-of-the-art downdraft spray booths, handling approximately six fully prepped ROs per day — including fascias, six-panel jobs, and two-to-three panel jobs. Precision and consistency are everything in this role, and your ability to match OEM finish standards will be put to full use.
You’ll collaborate closely with prep staff and fellow painters to meet daily work demands as a cohesive unit. You’ll also be expected to mentor and train others, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement across the shop floor.

Responsibilities
Working in Tesla’s collision repair environment means holding yourself to the highest standard of craftsmanship. Each day, you’ll be applying your technical skills to produce finishes that match Tesla’s exact OEM quality specifications, all while contributing to a smooth, efficient workflow alongside your fellow team members.
- Apply high-quality spray coatings including primers, sealers, basecoats, and clearcoats with precision and consistency
- Complete approximately 6 fully prepped repair orders per day across various panel configurations
- Perform invisible basecoat colour blending to ensure seamless finish integration
- Execute 2 and 3 stage colour applications to match factory finishes
- Maintain sprayed finishes with minimal dirt and consistent gloss and texture matching the OEM finish
- Collaborate with prep staff and other painters to efficiently meet daily work demands as a team
- Mentor and train other staff members as part of an ongoing commitment to team development
- Read and comprehend automotive repair procedures to guide accurate and compliant work practices
Requirements / Skills

- 5+ years of experience refinishing vehicles in an automotive collision repair environment using urethane-based refinish systems
- 410N licence (preferred) — knowledge of Ontario-specific refinishing standards is a strong asset
- Valid Class 5, G, or G2 driver’s licence for Canada — required to operate vehicles on the shop premises
- Willingness to work overtime when required to meet production demands
- Ability to train others — sharing knowledge and supporting team growth is part of the expectation
- Strong comprehension skills for reading and applying automotive repair procedures accurately
