About the Role: Audiologist / Hearing Instrument Practitioner

Responsibilities
This role covers the full clinical scope of a dispensing audiologist or hearing instrument practitioner, from initial intake to ongoing instrument support. Every task centres on providing accurate, evidence-based care to Costco members in a professional and confidential setting.
- Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments, including history taking, air and bone conduction threshold testing, and speech testing for the purpose of hearing aid dispensing
- Perform all dispensing-related procedures including hearing aid evaluations, recommendations, fittings, verification, and validation of instrument performance
- Complete impression taking, shell repair, and modification as required
- Adhere strictly to all infection control, privacy, and confidentiality standards
- Maintain accurate and complete clinical records and documentation
- Stay knowledgeable about all products and services available through the hearing centre
- Escort members into the hearing testing facility and manage access to the testing room as needed
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as required on a non-essential basis
Requirements / Skills
Costco is seeking a fully qualified and regulated clinician who is ready to practise independently from day one. The ideal candidate brings both the technical knowledge of a trained audiologist and the interpersonal skills needed to guide members through sensitive health decisions with confidence and care.
- Master’s Degree in Audiology OR status as a Registered/Licensed Hearing Instrument Practitioner with full authorization to dispense hearing aids in Alberta
- Registered (or eligible for registration) with the relevant regulatory College in Alberta and/or Member in Good Standing with your Provincial Association, with all required licensing for practice
- Authorized (or eligible) to provide government-funded hearing services where applicable in your province
- Clinical experience in audiology or hearing instrument dispensing is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and solid technical aptitude for hearing instrument technology
- Excellent communication and counselling skills with a genuine commitment to member service
- Strong computer skills and organizational ability for managing clinical workflows and documentation
