About the Role: Asset Protection Representative

As an Asset Protection Representative at Loblaws Toronto, your core focus is to deter, detect, and investigate theft and fraud within the retail location. You’ll collaborate with fellow APRs on provincial and national organized retail crime (ORC) cases, liaise with local police, and compile evidence for court or arbitration proceedings. Beyond enforcement, you’ll also be an educator — coaching store colleagues on Asset Protection policies and procedures to build a culture of awareness throughout the store.

Responsibilities

In this role, each shift brings a blend of proactive loss prevention, collaborative investigations, and store partnership. The work is both strategic and hands-on — from monitoring surveillance feeds to presenting evidence in court proceedings, no two days are exactly alike.

  • Deter, detect, and apprehend individuals involved in theft and fraud within the retail location
  • Collaborate with other Asset Protection Representatives to investigate provincial or national ORC cases
  • Liaise regularly with local police services to support investigations and maintain community safety
  • Detect and investigate internal cases; compile and present evidence for court or arbitration proceedings
  • Identify shrink opportunities within operational core compliance to reduce product loss
  • Build store partnerships through management meetings and huddles; coach and mentor colleagues on Asset Protection policies
  • Participate in conducting store-level audits to ensure compliance and awareness
  • Engage in community events as a representative of the Loblaws Asset Protection team
