About the Role: Asset Protection Associate

As an Asset Protection Associate, your primary mission is to create and maintain a secure and effective environment for customers, associates, visitors, and vendors at all times. You’ll conduct daily facility patrols, validate that doors and showcases are secure, and take action when external theft occurs — including making arrests when necessary. Your work directly contributes to increasing store profitability and reducing financial and physical loss.

You’ll also play a key role in emergency preparedness, supporting evacuation procedures in the event of a fire or other emergencies. Working alongside store leadership and the Market Loss Prevention Manager, you’ll investigate incidents of internal and external theft, organized retail crime, and ethics-related cases — all handled in a timely, thorough, and policy-compliant manner. This role demands strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to present findings clearly across different perspectives.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $19.60 per hour, with the actual rate determined based on relevant experience. Responsibilities

The day-to-day work of an Asset Protection Associate at Walmart Richmond is both varied and consequential. From conducting security patrols to supporting complex investigations, you’ll be a critical part of keeping the store running safely and profitably. Here’s what you can expect to take on:

• Conduct daily patrols of the facility to ensure doors, showcases, and entry points are secure and functioning properly

• Investigate instances of financial and physical shrink, reporting findings to Store Leadership or the Market Loss Prevention Manager as appropriate
• Support store evacuation procedures during fires or other emergency situations
• Conduct and support investigations related to internal theft, dishonesty, organized retail crime, and Global Ethics cases in a thorough and timely manner
• Participate in store task team responsibilities as required to support broader store operations
• Communicate findings and information clearly across different sources and perspectives, helping to clarify issues for store leadership and other stakeholders
