About the Role: Air Export Specialist

As an Air Export Specialist at DHL Global Forwarding, you’ll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of air export shipments — from pick-up at the shipper’s facility all the way through to delivery at the consignee’s door, depending on Incoterms. You’ll prepare and verify export documentation, arrange airline bookings, and process shipments through the CargoWise platform while maintaining automated airfreight workflows and keeping milestone data up to date.

Beyond the operational side, this role demands strong customer service skills and the ability to proactively identify and resolve exceptions. You’ll work closely with customs departments, customs brokers, airlines, and internal stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely communication throughout the shipment lifecycle. Bilingualism in English and French is essential given the Montréal market and the international scope of the work.

Benefits and Salary

Responsibilities

The Air Export Specialist role at DHL Global Forwarding covers the full operational scope of air freight exports, from documentation and bookings to billing and reporting. These responsibilities are central to delivering the high service standards that DHL’s global customers depend on.

• Manage air export shipments end-to-end, from pick-up at the shipper’s location to delivery at the consignee’s destination (based on applicable Incoterms)
• Prepare timely and accurate export documentation in full compliance with import/export regulations
• Arrange airline bookings and process air export shipments using CargoWise
• Maintain automated airfreight workflows and ensure all operational milestones are updated accurately
• Provide end-to-end customer service and comprehensive file management throughout the shipment lifecycle
• Distribute correct documentation to customers, customs departments, customs brokers, and designated airlines
• Coordinate the prompt delivery of consignments to specified destinations
• Handle shipment billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at every step
• Enter and update milestone data and prepare operational and performance reports as required
