About the Role: AI Sales Specialist, Public Sector
This Advanced-level position is designed for a seasoned sales professional with deep experience in the enterprise software, cloud, or AI space. You’ll own a defined territory within the Canadian public sector — including defence entities — building and expanding relationships with both new and existing customers. Responsibilities
As the go-to AI sales expert for the Canadian public sector, you’ll be managing multiple complex accounts simultaneously, each at a different stage in their cloud and AI transformation journey. Your responsibilities span relationship-building, strategic planning, pipeline development, and cross-functional execution — all with the goal of delivering measurable business impact for your clients and growth for Google Cloud.
- Build and nurture relationships with customers as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, managing complex business cycles and influencing long-term strategic account direction
- Deliver against quota and achieve or exceed strategic business and growth goals while forecasting and reporting on territory performance
- Develop go-to-market strategies in collaboration with Google account teams and cross-functional partners — including Customer Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Channels
- Identify and qualify AI use cases that address real customer challenges, guiding clients through solution adoption and expansion
- Develop and execute strategic account plans informed by Google’s responsible AI framework across your assigned territory
- Manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, understanding each customer’s technology footprint, growth plans, business drivers, and transformation goals
- Close complex agreements by working cross-functionally with procurement, legal, and technical leads to build business cases and implementation plans
Requirements / Skills

- Knowledge of cloud and AI market trends, including a solid foundational understanding of Google Cloud and AI products
- Excellent negotiation and active listening skills, with the ability to solve ambiguous problems and influence senior stakeholders effectively
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time across Canada and as required
